Thief Desktop Theme v1.3 for Windows 98

0. General description

    This Windows 98 desktop theme attempts to capture some of the
    atmosphere and feel of the Looking Glass game "Thief - The Dark
    Project" on your desktop.

    Includes desktop wallpaper, sound events, mouse pointers, icons and
    colors. Font names and styles and font and window sizes have been
    left at windows defaults. This theme does not include a screensaver.

1. Installation

    Extract all files into your "Plus!\Themes" directory with "use folder
    names" checked (in winzip). Use your mp3-player/decoder of choice to
    decode "Thief startup.mp3" to "Thief startup.wav". After this you can
    select the theme, "Thief v1.3", in the Desktop Themes -list.

2. Resolutions & bit depths

    This theme was designed for 1024x768x32 desktop and has not been
    tested on any other resolutions or bit depths. Lower resolutions
    will work, but the wallpaper is 1024x768, so if you use a lower
    resolution, I recommend you change the wallpaper size to match your
    desktop resolution with an image editing program such as Photoshop.
    Without getting into too much detail I'll just mention here that
    when windows up/downscales wallpapers to match screen resolution, it
    does it the easy way and the result is not always very nice. This
    theme should work on a 16-bit desktop, but 8-bit desktop probably
    won't look too good even if it works.

3. Additional files

    The "additional" directory contains 3 icons, 101 wav files from
    the game and 5 images in jpg format.

    Files in the "additional" directory are not used by the theme so
    unless you have modified the theme to use any of those files, the
    entire directory can be removed.
