Stuff
I'm adding random stuff here whenever there's anything to add. This list is roughly sorted by age, oldest stuff first, latest stuff at the bottom of the page.
Contact
These days, you have to be careful not to display your email address anywhere in a machine-readable form. So here it is, if you can read this:
Ray-Tracing
I implemented a ray-tracing algorithm way back in something like 1995. Back then, a single image took all day to render. Now there would be enough processing power to make an animation out of this if I just had the time to set it up.
Incident
Thief
Possibly the best computer game ever made.
- Miscellaneous Thief Downloads
Mostly outdated stuff. The good old days, 2001 and earlier.
- Thief: Deadly Shadows turned out to not be worthy. During development in 2004 this was already quite obvious. Oh well, at least the pre-release materials provided ample photoshoping opportunities.
- And when the level editor for Thief: Deadly Shadows was miraculously released, it was time to experiment with that.
Excerpts
When the continuous reorganization chaos in the company I work for really started, I briefly considered working somewhere else. While updating my CV, I realized I would also need some kind of portfolio, so during a sunday afternoon, I quickly put together a video, Excerpts. Xvid AVI 222M. It's outdated now, but here it is, anyway.
Pickman's Basement
The big effort in 2003 was a Lovecraft-inspired image that was submitted for entry in CGTalk.com's first Expose. It wasn't included in the book, of course.
Mandelbrot Animation
This is a Mandelbrot exploration animation I made in 2005. Xvid AVI 244M. Anti-aliasing, motion blur, 1024x768 resolution. Eight 1.6GHz Intel Xeon CPUs spent about a month rendering this. Screenshots:
Game Captures
Sometimes in games the stuff you're not supposed to do is the most fun stuff to do. Learning to fly in Max Payne 2. Parking in Flatout 2.
Space Battle
I started making an Imperial campaign for X-Wing vs. TIE FIghter in 2001 called "Rebel Offensive." I made almost a dozen quite elaborate missions, but when I got to the point where I needed to get into ship editing and that sort of stuff I lost momentum. By that time I had already put together the opening animation for the campaign, using Star Wars ship models gathered from various sources. Here it is, partly re-composited. Still missing the dialogue, hence the dead moments.
